Covid-19

Contribute in creating society

Covid - 19

"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

The challenge:
The COVID 19 pandemic impacted various strata of society across the globe. Everyone faced unique challenges and struggled to overcome them. Life came to a standstill for most of us. In India, daily wage earners felt its brunt the most. They struggled to survive during the lockdown since they had no source of income. It became tough for them to support their families.

Life did not seem to be coming back to normal for months.

During these trying times NSVK immediately took initiative, came ahead and tried to reach out to every single person seeking help and support.

NSVK’s Role:
During the pandemic, NSVK supported almost 3400 families. Till July 2020 NSVK provided:-
• Groceries to 1221 families.
• 50 kits for health and hygiene to children.
• 275 kits of mask and sanitizer to the communities.
• Counseled 2390 families about safety and precaution.
We reached out to TB patients, small vendors and people below the poverty line.

NVSK

Our Team:
Around 60 volunteers were involved in this project.

The Impact:
The beneficiaries felt relaxed and comforted when they received kits of grocery during these times of struggle. We could reach out to TB patients who were already suffering from a serious health issue and were desperately seeking help.

Tea stall owners, hawkers and others who owned small businesses were worried since they had suddenly lost their income source.

Our projects were seriously impacted during the lockdown and we found it tough to continue supporting and helping people in need. Our individual donors helped us overcome this challenge and were there with us during these testing times.

Areas covered:
The slum population of Malad, Kandivili, Borivali, Goregaon and Dahisar.

Gratitude:
We would also like to appreciate and applaud our volunteers who were involved in these activities. When everyone was forced to be at home, they stepped out and ensured to selflessly extend their help to the needy.

We would like to thank all the donors who have acknowledged and encouraged our work.

Every contribution is important as it builds a healthy environment for the people who are in need of support, love and care.

We are happy to mention everyone who joined hands with us. We salute their selfless service towards the betterment of our society.
