The life of families in slum settlements are complex and each household faces their own peculiar issues. A complacency towards receiving charity sets in. Our Family Development Programme aims to reduce this “dependent” attitude of beneficiaries to self-help via our multi-faceted interventions of home visits, community guidance centers and awareness meetings by addressing health-care, family planning, education, identity-related documents and need-based issues. We act as shadow resources for the families to find out and act upon their self-devised solutions and then we phase out completely either on time completion or satisfactory resolution of the issue at hand of the family. Awareness about the contextual realization and their standing in the big picture of the society is a constant endeavor of our programme.
